Crown Imperial Fritillaria Bulbs

Plant on arrival 15cm deep in well-drained soil in a sunny open position. They should be planted on their side as the new shoots develop from the indentation and this will stop the water gathering and rotting the bulb. To encourage flowering in following years apply a dressing of sulphate of potash in spring and autumn.

When clumps become congested they may be split, this must be done no earlier than August, as root activity starts early.
